Because each student is unique, Walden’s mission is to create a progressive and creative education program that responds to each student’s individual needs and builds on their strengths and knowledge.

Absence Policy:

It is essential for students to be in school as much as possible.  With very few exceptions, students will not be eligible for grades unless they meet the 90% attendance requirement.  Students who have chronic illnesses or who have outside obligations that have been  approved by the director in advance may have this attendance requirement waived.  Walden does not distinguish between excused and unexcused absences.

The school secretary will notify parents of their child’s absence from school each morning during the first twenty minutes of first period and after lunch during the first twenty minutes of fourth period unless the parent has called in.
